Day 1

Depending on your arrival time in Nairobi, you will be collected and taken to a small airfield. Relax a little as we load the aircraft, and take-off in the direction of Amboseli for an hour’s beautiful flight over the Athi Plains, the Salengai sandy river arriving in Amboseli with the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Upon landing you are welcomed by our Massai friends. Settle into the lodge, relax, perhaps have a swim, lunch, and around 15H00 set off for a personalized 4x4 game drive following the Elephants’ transition route in a protected area on the edge of Amboseli Park .We make all effort to keep off the beaten track, under the omnipresence of the highest mountain in Africa, the mighty Kilimanjaro. The landscape at the base of this ancient volcano is dotted with “umberella “ acacias , the classic thorn tree of which giraffes are so fond . Sundowner in the park . Return to lodge, dinner, overnight at lodge.

Day 2

Early morning wake up with a hot drink. Dawn take off for about 1h15 flight toward the summit of Kilimanjaro, a flight full of surprises to the roof of Africa, I say no more! While descending from the heights , we will fly over the Amboseli swamps, inaccessible by vehicle, and find families of elephants feeding against the backdrop of this mythical mountain.
We land in the heart of the park where our 4x4 is waiting for us and we will stop next to one of the elephant routes whilst having a memorable breakfast. Then a traditional game drive ; Amboseli does not resemble the other parks, as the omnipresence of the highest mountain in Africa predominates, but this is not all: there is a beautiful light in Amboseli that gives the environment a particular purity. Undoubtedly we owe it to the immensities of the dried-up ghost lake, to the whirlwinds of wind that raise white dust, to the mirages that hang there, and to the vaporous expanses and emerald-green marshes crisscrossed by elephants. Before it gets too hot, return to the plane for a small safari flight which will take us back to our lodge. Lunch, rest and depart in the afternoon for a 4x4 safari or on foot in the protected area. Aperitif in the bush at sunset, return to the lodge, dinner and if you wish, possibility go for a night game drive.

Day 3

Breakfast, then take off for a superb 1:20 flight starting over the Amboseli swamps then, the eastern part of the Great Rift Valley ; Powerful visual sensations will arise as we discover its impressive fault lines, followed by the sublime Lake Natron whose sumptuous colours will blow you away. The low alkaline waters are some time in the year, home to an abundant population of flamingos . A spectacular flight to the Tanzanian border, the palette of incredible tones provides impressions which you will not forget . We will climb over the N'guruman escarpment at 2,400 mts and fly over the Loita Hills and its' indigenous mountain forests in contrast to the semi-arid floor of the Rift Valley. We will land on a small bush trail in the heights of the loita hills. Another surprise waits as our Masai friends accompanied by their donkeys welcome you. After loading the bags on the donkeys we leave on foot, guided by proud Masai warriors, to our bush camp nestled on the edge of the primary forest. Lunch, rest and depart on foot for a wonderful hike. Back in camp, our Masai friends will do a traditional ceremony. Dinner under the stars. I can explain some of our equatorial constellations whilst sitting around the fire. Night in the bush under canvas.

Day 4

Wake up in this enchanting setting, breakfast and departure for a day of hiking which will lead us to a view point overlooking the great rift with the donkeys, which carry our day packs and our lunch. The Loita Hills are a mountain of moderate altitude (the highest peak at 2,400 meters above sea level) situated south of Nairobi and northeast of the Maasai Mara. This area is renowned for the beauty of its landscapes and as it is rarely visited, it is one of the last havens of true wilderness in Kenya. It is also widely regarded as a cradle of the most traditional Maasai culture and the best area to discover it.
The Loita Hills include remote forests and wide plains surrounded by beautiful hills dotted with wildlife. They are an ideal area to enjoy the scenery, hike with the local Maasai and learn more about their culture and their lifestyle. The Loita Hills are a wonderfully peaceful place.

Lunch, rest in this beautiful setting and in the afternoon, depart for a personalized safari in the sanctuary of Loisaba, this immense 25.000 hectares ranch, has an average altitude of 1800 M. This wildlife/cattle ranch lies in the heart of Laikipia wilderness which extends from Mount Kenya, on the equator, North to Samburu, Maralal , and up to the edge of the Rift Valley
The whole of the Laikipia Plateau is rich in wildlife and is among the most protected areas of Kenya.
Sundowner in the bush and return to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 9

After breakfast, return to the plane for a superb 0.30 flight to the Mathew's Range, flying over the Samburu area and highland indigenous forests. Land at a bush strip where we take a picnic lunch. After a short rest, unload the plane and another surprise awaits ; a superb 2 H00 aerial ballet. Our wings will take us over the Elbarta plains, and plunge into the great rift valley at Suguta, where coloured canyons, sand dunes, and superb mineralogy demonstrate the glory of the Earth; Great emotion as we overfly Lake Logipi, its palette of colour and its pink flamingos. This is also the lowest and hottest part of the Kenya Rift Valley. The grand finale, the discovery of the southern end of Lake Turkana sometime called the jade sea, Naboyetom and Telekis Volcanoes. Here the earth shows its elusive beauty and all its power. It is one of the most beautiful sights I know of in East Africa. To top it off, we will fly over the forested peaks of Mount Ngiro, where it is said, Ngai, the God of the Samburu people resides. Land back at the Matthew's airstrip, transfer by 4x4 to the small tented camp nestled in the forest. Dinner and overnight at the tented camp.

Day 10

Breakfast in this sublime setting and if you wish, depart for one of the many beautiful walks possible, which can be adapted to all levels. We will either take a picnic or have lunch at the small lodge. The Mathew's Range is located in northern Kenya, surrounded by immense semi-arid plains, rises up to The Matthew's Range. This territory is that of the Samburu tribe. These people are semi-nomadic pastoralists who roam these vast expanses with their flocks of goats, cows and sheep. It is also an important transition corridor for elephants between the Ndoto Mountains in the north and the Karisia Hills to the west. A number of animal species have evolved independently in the Matthew's Range, hence its great diversity and conservation value. It is a sanctuary for all indigenous fauna and flora. On the way back from the walk, let's plunge into the fresh river rock pool. Back to the camp, rest of the day at your leisure. Towards evening we might go for a sundowner to a magic view point. Dinner and overnight at the small camp.

Day 11

According to your departure time for those who wish, after breakfast, you have the possibility to go for another hike. After lunch, transfer by 4x4 back to the plane and take off for another good 1hr35 flight towards Nairobi. We fly over the Ewaso Ngiro , the Lakipia plateau and its abundant wildlife, the soft green tea fields of the Limuru highlands, before arriving at the N'gong hills and Nairobi.
