2009 - Siku Kumi Ndege Ndogo, Ambo Mara Lakipia

Safari 10 days / 9 nights

Day 1

We come and collect you at the International Airport, and we travel by car to our private airstrip South of Nairobi.

Take off for Amboseli for a beautiful two hour flight over the athi plains, the sandy river of the selengai, and arrive in Amboseli at the base of Mt Kilmanjaro. Land and settle into a newly renovated beautiful lodge. Relax, take lunch, have a swim, and about 0330 , leave for a 4x4 game drive In the Kimana sanctuary. Sundowner in kimana, dinner and night at the Lodge.

Day 2

Morning flight from the foot of Kilimanjaro to the beautiful volcanic chain of the Chyulu hills. If possible land in the bush to take breakfast under the wings, return to the Lodge after about two Hour flying. Relax, take lunch, swim and later in the afternoon, take a walk guided by Masai warriors. Sundowner , dinner and night at the Lodge.

Day 3

After breakfast, take off in the direction of Amboseli National park, for half an hours flight..A short time after take off, we overfly the amboseli swamps inaccessible by vehicle, and see the elephants at the foot of Kilimanjaro. Land in the centre of the park where a 4 x 4 awaits, and we place ourselves on one of the migration routes of the elephants, and take a memorable breakfast ; This is not like the other game parks and the omnipresence of the highest African mountain gives to Amboseli a special atmosphere. Here a beautiful light prevails and gives the area a peculiar clearness. It is probably due to alkaline dry lake, where whirlwinds lift white dust. Mirages shimmer on the horizon, contrasting with green emerald swamps furrowed by elephants. Return to the ULM for an hour’s flight to Ibissil. Flying over the park with a different perspective, over the Namanga hills, land in Ibissil. Lunch, rest, take a walk. Sundowners, dinner and night at the hosts house.

Day 4

After breakfast, take off in the direction of the mara for a 2 hr 40 min flight that will take your breath away, which will remain a surprise and one of the best memories of your trip. Over the east part of the inaccessible Great Rift Valley, the great cliffs, and an emotional visual spectacle. The discovery of Lake Natron, which will make your eyes pop out. ! The alkaline water with sumptuous colours, providing for an amazing variety of birdlife, Pelicans and flamingos. Images you will never forget, a palette of incredible tones. We will climb over the Nguruman escarpment to a height of 3200 meters, followed by the Loita Hills, arriving for an aeriel safari over the Mara plains. Install into a good tented lodge, take lunch, and in the afternoon we take our personalized 4x4 for a game drive in search of wildlife. Sundowner in the bush, returning to the lodge for dinner and the night.

Day 5

At six o clock wake up with a hot tea or coffee, take our personal 4x4 game drive vehicle I search of all the wildlife the Masai Mara has to offer. Bush Breakfast en route, and return to the lodge for the midday heat to pass and out again in the afternoon on a game drive.

The Mara is an extension of the Tanzanian Serengeti, open to the migration of all the animals which circulate according to the seasons, and thus available grazing. Zebra, gnu, elephant, Thompson and Grant gazelle , impala, dik dik, topi , buffalo, Giraffe, eland and wart hogs. Jackal Hyena and all the cats. The reserve covers 1530 km2, and is a world of its own. Return to the camp, Dinner, night at the tented Lodge.

Day 6

After breakfast take off towards Elementaita, for a 2hr 20 min flight, varying beautifully beween the savanna plains and the high forested plateau, finishing with a beautiful descent into the Rift Valley. You will see the geothermal activity, not far from Mt Longonot.. Arrive in the small private park of Elementaita, at the base of the rift on the Eastern side. Transfer and settle into a small rustic lodge, Lunch. Rest and afternoon foot safari. Sundowners, and night in the cottages.

Day 7

After breakfast, take off for a spectacular 2 hour flight where we climb the volcanic massif of the Abadare range culminating at 3200 meters.passing to the North West, we arrive in El Karama, in the middle of the Laikipia Plateau, and its elephants. Install into some agreeable cottages. Lunch, rest and around 4 pm, go for a foot safari, Sundowner, night at the cottages.

Day 8

After breakfast, take off for an hours game flight over el karama. Lunch, rest and towards four o clock set out for an evening game drive. Sundowners in the bush, and a night drive in search of leopard. Dinner and night in the cottage.

Day 9

After breakfast, take off for a 40 minute flight to Sangare, in the Lakipia Plateau, over the private reserves of sweetwaters and solio. Install into some sweet cottages. Very friendly atmosphere around a family table at meals. Rest and ;leave for a 4x4 game drive in the Solio sanctuary, looking for the rare Grevy Zebra and other endangered animals.. Solio is known for its rhinocerous, with an environmental programme for the concervation of rhinos which has been established in the 70’s, with the funds donated by many well wishers. There is also a large variety of birdlife. Sundowners in the middle of the park, and return to the cottages by night. Dinner and night at the cottages.

Day 10

Wake up, breakfast and either a horse ride or a walk on foot. Return to the cottages. Lunch and take off for Nairobi for a 1 hr 50 min beautiful flight. Our wings will take us over the south eastern foothills of the abadares, over the highlands of tea and coffee of Limuru and into Nairobi on the east of the Ngong Hills. A flight that will not leave you feeling indifferent. Relax, and drive to the international airport, your head full of wonderful memories and images.
